Sharing In A Story

The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 1:13-14)

We are proclaiming what we have seen and heard also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:3)

So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household. (Eph. 2:19)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, the people who are God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Pet. 2:9)

So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. The new has come! (2 Cor. 5:17)

THE JOURNEY

For those who are in Christ Jesus —
A new heart. A new spirit. A new citizenship. A new family.
A new Sovereign and Father. A new identity and culture.
Now Kingdom life is becoming more normal, less foreign.
A royal priesthood embodies the royal law.
And we receive the world as our consular assignment.

A JOURNAL

(For reflection and assessment. On your journey, how real are these statements becoming in your actual lived life?)
  1. God is great. God is good. And God is near.
  2. We are faithful stewards of the many forms of God's grace.
  3. People like us (new identity) do things like this (new culture).
or, As God's treasured possession (new identity), we live Jesus-like lives (new culture).
  4. We so love the world that we give our first and our best.
  5. Our everyday story is for God's glory.

The words ‘journey’ and ‘journal’ stem from the Latin word dies which means ‘day’. Both what we’re doing and how we’re doing at it have a daily quality about them. Together, these tell my story, your story, and our story.
