Blessed
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. — Jer. 17:7
Faith is trust that's able to take a step. When we take that step, we courageously exercise our trust, drawing on God's grace. Our faith might be small as a tiny seed, but it delights God because we are moving with him in blessing. And he makes it all possible.
The Only Thing That Matters
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. — Gal. 5:6b
Pastor Mike Ashcraft often says, "Left and Right are two sides of the same coin in the wrong system." Here, Paul says faith and love are two sides of the same coin in the right system.
Love is a Gift
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. — 2 Cor. 9:7
Love is the gift of self. A gift must be given. Like mercy and forgiveness, it cannot be demanded, pressured, manipulated, or extorted. Even God wants a cheerful (gracious, ungrudging) giver. Maybe the gift will be appreciated. Maybe not. Still, love has been added to the world.
