Stiff-Necked and Unbowed
Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. ⏤ Isa. 50:7
Trust must be tested. Our first parents were tested in Eden⏤before the Fall. A test that precipitated the Fall. Being stubborn can be a good thing. The question is, who gets our allegiance? We set our faces like flint and resist every authority, principality, power, and system that opposes our God of love. God wants our trust, above all.
Cure Rate
How long should it take to recover from harm, injury, or some other hurt? As long as necessary. Patience with ourselves and patience with others. The aphorism "Time heals all wounds" is a little too pithy and trite. Time does bring perspective to wounds. However, appropriate treatment and care are also necessary. There are no formulas. Natural, supernatural, and relational processes work at their own pace.
Clouds on the Horizon
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. — Matt. 6:34
Standing on the beach, looking inland. It's sunny here, but in the distance, we see dark clouds and lightning. Do we run to the car or stay? Today, we stay, and the storm never arrives. In life, many storms could strike. I can easily imagine they will. Lots never do, and all the worry is wasted.
